PLEASE READ😘❤️ I get so many questions…. “omg why are you so lean all the time.” “Why don’t you gain weight.” Contrary to popular belief, it is HEALTHY to stay at a consistent weight and not fluctuate. I feel like Insta has some brainwashed that you have to bulk, cut, bulk, cut. Let me tell you that I have never done that. And it’s possible to GAIN muscle not doing so. I don’t need to gain a lot of weight to build muscle. And I think you can tell my pics, and videos that I still gain, and get stronger. We are all different. Don’t think that just because one thing works for others… will work for you! It is physically impossible for me to bulk. I honestly don’t think my body could handle that much food, and to be honest it wouldn’t like it. If that is what works for you, keep doing it! If being vegan works for you, great! If you like meat…. great! My point is… try different things out. Just because your fav fitness gurus do something, doesn’t mean your body will react the same way. ❤️ I simply ask y’all to have an open mind reading this. The reason I say this is for my girls to understand that you don’t have to count macros, bulk, cut, to reach your goals. And the people getting upset with me…. are the ones that sadly think that is the ONLY way. It isn’t. ANYWAYS. I’ve spent way too much time on this post😂 love y’all

A lot of practitioners (me included) have a hard time flipping the grip or simply stretching/opening the shoulders. This Eka Pada variant is ideal for them or anyone wanting to noticeably change the shape of their backbends without involving the arms. I remember I used to hate doing any kind of lunging because it felt like something was about to snap, or it was just damn uncomfortable and my body begged me to come out every time. The longer you stay in it, the easier to make a difference and also access deeper layers so, if your body screams to get out, back off a bit and find an angle (there is one, I promise) where you can feel the opening but it hasn’t reached a ‘burning’ sensation yet. Something wonderful will happen as you continue to breathe mindfully: send the intention to the flexors, of releasing with each exhalation and try to sink a bit more after 4-5 breaths. Stay always above the threshold of pain. Lift the arch higher, relax the head back, drop the shoulders and, if you want, bend the back leg and see how far the foot is from the crown of the head (or top of the shoulder like I’m demoing in the pic). Make sure all the opening happens at the front of the body so there’s no hamstring cramping. EVERY TIME I come out of deep lunges, it feels like I got a new pair of legs, with new energy running through them…. try out and see how it works for you!!!
